The One Piece manga is on a two-week hiatus with the next chapter (Chapter 1132) scheduled for release on December 1, 2024. This break follows a return after a two-week pause during which creator Eiichiro Oda worked on the production for Season 2 of the Netflix live-action adaptation.

The One Piece anime will also be on hiatus until April 2025 pausing the Egghead arc. During this period, fans can look forward to a special-edited version of the Fish-Man Island arc and other content including a new episode titled “One Piece Fan Letter” airing soon.

The manga is in the Elbaph Arc, where the Straw Hat Pirates are exploring Elbaph Island known for its giant inhabitants. This arc is part of what is being referred to as One Piece’s Final Saga. Although no official end date has been announced.

According to the latest One Piece news reports, the One Piece anime is also on an extended break until April 2025 as it prepares for the next half of the Egghead Arc. This is one of the longest gaps in new episodes during its 25-year run.

According to the latest One Piece news reports, Filming for One Piece Season 2 officially began in July 2024 taking place in Cape Town, South Africa. This location was chosen for its landscapes that can represent the various islands and settings from the One Piece universe.

The production is a collaboration between Netflix, Tomorrow Studios and Shueisha with Matt Owens and Joe Tracz serving as co-showrunners for the upcoming season.

Eiichiro Oda has been actively involved in the production process. Oda hinted at the huge production costs associated with adapting several story arcs including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and Drum Island.

The Original Cast Will Reprise their Roles:
